Recently burned through a bottle of Woodford Reserve Bourbon, pretty good! Just got another one.

Also read about putting a few drops of vanilla extract in your sippin' whiskey to mellow it out a bit and knock down the fire. It seems to work well, can't taste it, but it does improve the drinkability for me.

Other people have raved about running your bottle of sprits through a Brita or Pūr water filter pitcher, says the charcoal filtering really smooths it out. Haven't tried that yet.

We tried that in college with cheap vodka but we only did it once so it must not have been that big a deal. Not that we were real discerning with our taste back then.
