Default ATF Inspection at Tanner today.

As some of you may have seen Im selling my Tula Krink (sbr). I decided to see if there was any interest at the Tanner show today in Loveland. I wasnt really expecting to sell it today, but gave out my number to a couple seemingly interested guys.(we'll see)

I noticed some pretty interested eyes as we pasted the ATF table. After chatting at a random table, I had the two ATF guys waiting for me. After the quick ID flash, they just wanted to inspect the krink. After looking at the copy of the tax stamp and double checking the serial number, I was good to go. I asked if they wanted to buy it. I could tell the one guy liked it, lol.

Not a bad experience, they were just doing their job checking it. Although I should have gave them a hard time and really checked out his ID.

You should have. You willingly gave your ID to someone that may (or may not) work for BATFE. I would most definitely would have asked to see their ID.

Next time, you could ask for a business card, after reviewing their credentials. Perhaps you could have chatted them up about expediting your next SBR or suppressor application : )

They have questions. I imagine that you also have questions. Give and take makes for an equal exchange.

You should have given them "the finger" and walked off.

If they were real ATF agents I would almost bet a dollar you would have found out shortly afterwards.

Besides, think how cool it would be for everyone else at the show to go home and tell the story about the guy who was taken down and cuffed by the ATF agents.

(I would post a big smiley here but mine seem to be broken)

Saw his his face on his ATF ID and they were the guys previously behind the ATF table at the show. And if they were atf imposters I rather them see my tax stamp copy, than me be wrong and get tackled, lol. ---although they weren't intimidating at all. Pretty sure they spend too much time on the computer, and not on CO AR-15 of course.

Cstone-You're right. Common courtesy. And my lady gets my tax stamps back fairly quickly. about 2 months. of course it depends on how busy they are I suppose.

Gay.....seems to me they shouldn't just be able to check your tax stamp at will if there is no crime being committed
