Default Had an attack of the dumbass today

Brought my car in today for some work -- alignment, etc. They recommended plugs, air filter, etc, etc, wanted $175 to do plugs and an air filter on my little 4 cylinder car. No thanks, I'll take care of it myself.

Anyway, got the parts, changed the plugs and decided to do the wires as well. Got everything back together, turned it on for a smoke test. Runs like crap, missing all the time, was rather rich smelling, then dies.

    Crap.

So I swap out the wires, thinking that has to it the case. Nope. Then, I figure since the only other thing that I've done was to install new plugs, I pulled those and checked the gap.

Ready? I was using a gauge to measure a gap of .04mm, not .04 inches.

Yeah. Not a mechanic. Not going to quit my day job anytime soon. Fortunately, got that fixed, and everything went great then. :P

At least you put the right wires on the right plugs.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

Oh well, happens to us all. I always love hearing the ones about people accidentally draining the transmission fluid instead of the oil. I haven't had the pleasure of doing that one lol.

I like the end result of changing the plugs & wires and putting them on the distributor cap in the wrong order and then
have to go back and buy the damn $35 Haynes or Chiltons manuels to get the proper order. That makes for an exciting time.

    McCantar.

On Friday, I got a dime jammed in the coffee machine at work before I realized I was trying to cram it into the bill collector. I was standing there thinking, "For such a big slot, this POS is sure having a hard time with this tiny dime."

I was able to dig it back out before anyone noticed.
