    Default Soften New holster leather?

I have a new Don Hume open top holster I got to carry my G36 in for CCW. The inside is swade and the gun fits like a glove. The outside is black leather and is as hard as plastic. What can I do or treat the outside with to soften it up a bunch?

if you soften it up it will lose its intended fit. Just keep wearing it and it will break in.

Practice drawstrokes , the molded leather is the retention on that style holster and softening the leather will adversely affect that .

Yup, as mentioned use is the best way to wear it in and find the sweet spot. Whatever you do stay away from "Neatsfoot Oil" type products, they tend to make the leather mushy. When the time comes to treat it use Lexol.
