    I'm impressed. I did read about something like this years ago and not to argue with another poster, I read that it would often mistake gunshots and fireworks, car backfirings, etc. I am sure the technology is better now, but think of how easy it would be to throw off the police if fire crackers sound like gunshots. And for the cost, it better be fool proof. I think that broke jurisdictions would not purchase the equipment and they are the ones that would need it most.

    I know many may not see the difference or care, but I would have a really big problem with the federal government doing it as opposed to local jurisdictional choice...possibly going up for a vote (mainly because of the cost).
