In 6 years ammo has gone up 200-400%. I still have surplus that I bought at the following prices. .223 SA brass cased, 11 cents a round. .308 12.9 cents a round. 7.62X54r 7.3 cents. 7.62X25 4.6 cents and 7.62X39 7.5 cents per rd.

Her $60 shoes she bought because Oprah said they are cool 4 years ago will bring $5 at the yard sale.

    Fixed It For Ya (FIFY)

I have always been of the rule, 1k rounds of ammo per caliber per firearm.
So if you have 5 firearms in 5.56/.223, then 5k rounds of ammo.

That would be minimium. Maximium is that there is NO maximium. More the merrier!!!!

Also 10 magazines per firearm regardless if you have multiples of the particular firearm.

I've ordered over 10k rounds (centerfire...not rimfire) at once from a single source. Haven't noticed any black helos/Suburbans lurking over/around my house.

Order what you can afford. I consider it a badge of honor and maybe even a subtle warning if the government knows we have a shit-load of guns and ammo.

It's like guys who've been in the military, undergone background checks for work, etc...worrying about buying a gun from a dealer. Kinda silly if you ask me.

I have bigger things to worry about than the .gov singling out my gun/ammo purchase from the hundreds of thousands that occur every day. Not to mention mine are probably minor compared to some.

In 2005 I was denied while buying a firearm in CO.While on active Duty. They said sorry 6 months later and now I can buy what I want and even have a CCWLOL

I didn't mean because basically the .gov is a bunch of f**kups...I meant the whole "I don't want the .gov to know anything about me" thing.

I think a guy should have any many rounds of whatever he needs/prefers as he can procure and store! I personally just can't force myself to buy big quantities of ammo, because of the cost and I'll never shoot it all up anyway. So, I just keep rollin' my own and trying to find a place to put 'em.

You bet!! In my day, we'd mix up our own powder and cast our own projectiles (round ball). Never had to be concerned about picking up empty brass as it was all muzzle loaders back in MY day. Now, I have no shootable ammo left anymore as it was all used up on those dreaded Red Coats.
