For those of you who think that limiting things that will hurt children is wrong, how do you justify allowing parents to molest their own children?

I'm not talking about smoking outside, I'm talking about hotboxing a kid, I'm not talking about limiting firearm ownership, they can stored safely, and children taught proper firearm safety, I am talking about explicitly harming a child.

Unfortunately there are those who feel with no firearms the country would be a better place and are doing everything they can to see their "thoughts" become law. The anti's don't care if your gun was stored in a time release vault at the bank, it's still a gun.

Again i despise smoking around children, the mentality that was witnessed by the op shows they do not care as long as they are happy. Like the alcoholic driving the kids, it's about them and no one else.
You can pass all the laws you want to prevent what was witnessed, however it will never work because like guns a certain element will do what ever they want.

I suggest those who feel something should be done to prevent such behavior in the future
1) organize a group of like minded folks
2) Start a petition to be put on the next elections ballot
3) get the required number of signatures and have at it.

REMEMBER................... That same petition will be about guns next, Its already happened once regarding BG checks at gun shows, which a lot of gun owners felt was "reasonable" legislation.

Sounds like you agree with the OP. I think he despises people smoking around kids too. Not cool with all the people getting offended at someone venting about stupid parents who are mistreating their kids.

I guess I missed the part where the OP is starting a petition to pass another law. Hell he didn't even say anything to the assholes.

Like you said, OP didn't even say anything to those people. Hell, I'd still agree with him even if he did say something to them like, "Excuse me, what you're doing really isn't healthy for your kids." If they said MYOB, STFU, or who are you to tell me how to raise my kids, fine. At least OP did something, and he did it all without infringing on anybody's rights or establishing a police state.

The opposition to OP brought up passing laws, and apparently don't ever get upset about anything. Otherwise they would be doing what they say not to.

You're sure you don't want to try to explain again why somebody might get upset if they saw parents hotboxing their infant? Maybe if you do it then those on the other side might get it.
