My son is high functioning autistic; we've done a huge amount of research about it. Haven't really found any reputable connection regarding the vaccines, but have found some info regarding gluten and dairy free diets helping some people with autism or autistic symptoms. Part of it has something to do with what happens in some people's digestive tract with the gluten in the wheat and casein in the milk. A friend of my wife has a brother who had this; the mother did the extreme gluten/casein free diet and saw remarkable results. It may not be actual autism that this is affecting; I remember reading something about these foods causing autism-like symptoms in some people. But for those who have children with autism, anything's worth checking out. It never hurts to do the research.
Regarding vaccines; adverse reactions are possible. I'm fortunate to not have had a lasting bad reaction to any; I've had a couple of short term ones though. And the military has given me about every shot I can imagine, and a few I couldn't! Even rabies...
