Gunoholic - Do you own any real Larue mounts? I only ask because I'm curious if you were scammed because you didn't know what a real Larue mount looks like (not your fault) or if the fakes are really that real looking (even scarier). Does your LT-110 have the 'ECOS-C' and the Larue emblem laser etched into the anodizing? If I remember right the little block on the bottom of the mount, that keeps it from shifting forward and back, should have 'LT110' machined into it as well.

Sorry you got scammed. Hopefully the vendor makes it right.

If you mounted your red dot on a beretta cx4 storm its not the mounts it the CX4. I have A.R.M.S and LaRue red dot mounts and i get back and forth play with both of them. I think the CX4's top rail is out of spec.

I wish stuff like this didn't happen at all but it's becoming a tad challenging with all the airsoft-intended items that look just like the real thing as well as some companies making two nearly identical items, one Chinese and the other made in the U.S. (the Magpul RSA & RSA PTS as but one example).

Proving the vendor knew they were fake might prove a bit difficult (and maybe he was duped as well).

Sounds like the guy did not try to blow you off, so maybe it is early to be unleashing the hounds. I would be curious if he is still flogging the same kit in Denver this weekend though.

That may be the tell tale sign... If he is still selling the mounts as genuine this weekend.

Yes I have seen many PST brands being sold as Genuine US MAGPUL, specially on e-charge you fees for everything-bay.

Like the RSA you picked up. The US MAGPUL genuine RSA uses a flat head bolt and the PST uses a allen hex. Weird subtle things. I don't get airsoft and the money spent on it.............but that is another thread.

To the original OP, take pictures and post them up here to get some thoughts on it.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles. --Jeff Cooper"

To the untrained eye..i.e. myself, they look pretty darn close. Side by side with a real Larue you can tell for sure. I do have a lt-104 mount, and didnt even remeber the LT104 on the bottom of it.

On some sites posting links to other forums is taboo, but to help keep others from making this mistake a member of 1911 forum provided great pictures and details to help people spot a larue fake. Mods please delete if you are not ok with this.

Mine is identical to the fake in his pictures. Mine just looks more used.

I do plan on making his name and description known here on co ar, if I am not fully refunded. Drucker, you're right he may have had no clue. He claimed to have got them from a military friend, and he said he thinks they are real.

I'll give an update this weekend.

Well I went to back to the tanner show in Denver to get try to get my money back. The vender looked at the mount he sold me and the info I had printed from the thread in my previous post. He gave me a full refund. I'm glad he didnt give me a hard time about it. I'm still not too sure if he didnt know it was a fake. who knows... Unfortunately for the other buyers, he said he already sold the other two mounts...

Sounds like he did the right thing. Good on you for standing up and holding him accountable.
