NYC wanted to ban the use of certain cooking oils in restaurants and wanted to ban smoking outdoors.
NYPD will arrest AND jail you if they spot a knife clipped to your pocket, or if they catch you putting your feet up on a seat in the subway.
While I am generally opposed to secession, I think we'd be a lot better of without NY, IL, NJ, MA, and RI. NYC and Chicago want to impose their way of life on the rest of the nation through federal legislation, and I think it's about time we just kick them out of the USA altogether. Too bad that just ain't feasible.
NY DID BAN the use of trans fat for cooking.. They did ban smoking in parks..

People in this country are a bunch of lazy, self-indulgent (as evidenced by the 'super-size' options available at fast food joins) fat asses who would rather eat themselves into a diabetic coma than to do anything resembling putting effort into it. Just look at the number of fast food joints as you drive down any street.
