Default Jeeps don't make good tricycles

So I had a little adventure on the highway last week. I was driving north on I-25 just south of Arapahoe minding my own business when the left front tire on my wrangler decided to part ways with the rest of the vehicle. I was in the second to the right lane and going about 55mpg when it happened. Luckily I got to the right hand curb w/o hitting anyone and it doesn’t appear my rogue tire hit anyone as well.
The Good Lord sure was looking out for me. Plus insurance is going to cover the damage.

Sounds fun.... not. Glad you're okay! I've seen a few bad accidents due to blowouts and the such.

Lugs came off. Don't know why--back luck I guess.

No recent tire rotation, tire change, front end alignment, etc ??
Bet you already checked the rest.
Glad it turned out as good as it did.

Me and a budy changed out the ball joints about 6 weeks ago. Could of been that but i don't think so. I'm pretty meticulous when I put lug nuts on. I do star pattern, use an impact wrench then check them with a breaker bar or torque wrench.

Always always always check your shit if you have it done at a lube and tire place! (many on the list)

    Glad everyone is ok.

Had local tire shop forget to tighten the lug nuts on a jeep that I once had, and this was after shelling out $600 + for a set of tires.

To the OP, it must have been beer-thirty when you put that wheel back on, or, there is someone that doesn't like that you pissed them off..
