You know I might like to try fishing here. I haven't bothered since I moved. I can fly fish, I guess it's just a matter of deciding to go.

If you can't fly fish, then you are not really fishing for trout in a mountain stream or river. You are simply in my and every other fly fisherman's way. You might get lucky and catch one fish. We are going to catch dozens and not leave shitloads of line everywhere. If fly fishing is too hard for you, find a lake or pond and leave the "too hard to cast a fly rod" type fishing to those of us that spent the time and energy to learn how to do the hard stuff. BTW, I taught my daughter how to do the hard stuff when she was ten, ya, you suck that bad. Now get away from my Fn river.

I've done fly fishing and spinning and caught a lot of fish doing both. I prefer spinning, I'll be doing some this weekend at a lake and in the river.

Last June I pulled this brown out of a river using a spinning rig.

I grew up within walking distance to the Colorado and the Roaring Fork. Been fishing with a spin reel my whole life and don't see a need to learn something new.

I love to flyfish but here's the deal:

We complain that others don't do it right. This leads to segregation...fly fishing and lures only. Bait casters go elsewhere! Pretty soon, the fly fishers and lure fishers hove thier own sections. Soon, the novice fly fishers get upset with the beginner fly fishers. Now we have to segregate them and break the river down to more sections. The older fly fishers can't wade in the heavier currents so they get their own section and so on and so on. Lastly, we have individual permits assigned to 20 yard sections of the river and after 10 years of the same section, we don't realize that they moved the application deadline up from the 31st of December to the 30th of November and we loose that permit and have to take up golf as we no longer have a spot in the river to fly fish.

Just saying, be careful what you wish for, it might come back to bite you in the ass!

Whatever... I have yet to see anyone out fish a fly rod on a river with a spin cast for trout. I'm sure we can arrange a time for you to bring your spin cast out to Deckers and we can see where things stand, clown.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.
