River fishing rant

I think people hear about the great fishing and big fish in the south platte and want to go fish it. They don't realize the amount of people from the US and around the world that go there to fish. They don't realize how selective these fish have become and they don't realize those people are using TINY flies and that the river is so famous that every pool and riffle has a name.

I had a couple neighbors that took their 8 yr old sons there to spin fish and were disapointed that they didn't even get a bite.

Whatever... I have yet to see anyone out fish a fly rod on a river with a spin cast for trout. I'm sure we can arrange a time for you to bring your spin cast out to Deckers and we can see where things stand, clown.

I've had days where I've fished circles around fly fishermen. And I've had days when they have out fished me. That's all.

I spinning reel fish rivers for trout and Walleye and kick ass at it. Two years ago got a 13 pound walleye in the river below chatfield, a fly fisherman would have never done that. Op should join Fishexploer most of the guys on there are the Bloombergs of the fishing holes I hate reading their self rightous posts.

+1. I toss lures and do quite well at it. you rarely see guys with fly-fishing rods land really good sized fish.

+3 I'm even from Alaska. I would say it is the biggest fishing state, try combat fishing on the kenai or Russian river.
