River fishing rant

+1. I toss lures and do quite well at it. you rarely see guys with fly-fishing rods land really good sized fish.

That's like saying that hunting big game with any other caliber except 300 Win Mag is unethical, wrong, and should be banned.

actually 50 bmg is the ONLY ethical way to hunt. all others should get out of my national forest

I've looked at it before but never joined. I just troll the fishing websites so I can see what people are saying about the lake(s) or river(s) I want to go to and see if they have any info as to what's working.

In the past two weeks I've seen dozens of these fools on the river, tearing crap up, snagging lures and and then leaving umpteen yards of line in the the water after snapping their line off...

Sounds like the same people that trash our shooting areas, go off trail when wheeling, drop their trash on our trails...

There's not many things I'd rather be doing than standing in the middle of secluded river and swinging a stick. Every once in a while I'll spin cast a mountain lake.

Some of you guys all butt hurt by my elitism need to go back to my OP and see just how specific I was as to where I was fishing. Down river from chatfield and lakes isn't what I was ranting about. Couple of you get that. Must be damn elitest like me.

Its right tool, for the job. I'm positive some of you think driving a nail with a big rock from the back yard is a cheaper and just as good as a hammer. Just don't look at the drywall afterwards.

I've done fly fishing and spinning and caught a lot of fish doing both. I prefer spinning, I'll be doing some this weekend at a lake and in the river.

Last June I pulled this brown out of a river using a spinning rig.

Jesus! That's a trout?!?! Looks like a freakin' salmon to me.

Speaking of fishing,
They should outlaw fly fishing. Its dangerous for anyone in the direct area around the fisherman what with that hook flying every which way and their attire is a whole nother matter in itself.

I don't care who fishes where or how. Just don't get on top of where I'm fishing and give me some room.

I do agree with the OP on one thing though. No one with a spinning reel can keep up with me fly fishing in Deckers. Ain't gonna ever happen.

As a matter of fact, there aren't to many fly fishers gonna keep up with me there either.

I'm just letting everyone know, I'm a fly fishing GOD!!
