Members of the Colorado Air and Army National Guard will join forces Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for a combined arms live fire exercise on Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The combat demonstrations, open to the general public will be conducted from 11-11:30 a.m. It will feature comprehensive demonstration of the Colorado National Guard's combat capabilities including, F-16 jets dropping bombs, M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System shooting downrange, snipers shooting targets from more than 500 yards, a helicopter medical evacuation, large vehicle static displays, and much more.

This exercise will demonstrate the combined firepower and warfighting capabilities of the Colorado National Guard and its trained Soldiers and Airmen, demonstrating to our citizens that the Colorado National Guard stands ready to meet mission requirements at home and abroad.

“The display of air and ground forces working jointly is imperative for combat readiness, and training with live ammunition has long been used by the armed forces as an opportunity to simulate combat situations,” said Adjutant General of Colorado, Maj. Gen. H. Michael Edwards. “This is a very important event for us and, weather permitting, should be a very exciting show.”
Haven't seen much about this advertised, but should be a fun event.
