Police on Sunday were investigating a car theft at a Belmont apartment complex.

Paul Steven Throndson reported that his gold 2006 Toyota Corolla was taken from the Fountain Garden Apartments between 10 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Toyota, Colorado license plate 695-PNY, was parked in the parking lot of the apartment complex at 4 Bonnymede Road.

Throndson told police that the Toyota is worth about $10,000.

Throndson told police that the car was locked.

A gray .45-caliber Highpoint semi-automatic handgun, worth an estimated $400, and an orange Black and Decker hedge trimmer ($85) were in the trunk of the Toyota.

Police did not have a suspect Sunday.

Probably just the paper getting things mixed up ... here's how it was probably supposed to read:

Surprised they didn't call it a black automatic assault pistol with high capacity clips.
