Must'a been the wire covers and the exhaust pipes at the rear tires
I think I borrowed some 12" slicks from a buddy, been a long tiime ago! I sure had a lot of fun in that old Chevelle......would be worth a fortune now. I was a real SS, not a Malibu with badges stuck on it. Didn't need to do that shit in '73, cars like this were plentiful and cheap, no need to fake 'em. We all had hotrods. Old Harleys were plentiful and cheap, as were Winchesters, Colt SAA's, M1911's, etc.

A buddy of mine bought a '68 Plymouth GTX for $1000 at a gas station, had a 426 Hemi in it and was one of those "factory race cars" that they made just for taking to the drag strip, didn't have any frills or extras, just horsepower and factory HP parts all over it like dual carbs, headers, dual-point ignition, heavy-duty trans and axle, all that stuff. It was a beast, but ate sparkplugs like crazy. That thing would be priceless now!
