Guys:
I have heard this rumor for months and also had the opportunity to see the flyer that Denver Bullet is circulating. I contacted a number of major ammo suppliers and importers and this rumor is an urban legend. I have contacted a friend in the State Department and he knows of no such ban. Maybe some are using it to raise the prices on their ammo...I couldn't say?
Most of you have shot Wolf or Bakiel. They are importing plenty of it. It is basically surplus. Ammo is coming in from Russia and is being sold by AIM and R Guns. You go to the Talon website (www.talonammo.com) and contact their sales department and ask if they are closed. Last time I spoke with them, they were still demilling ammunition.
There is a shortage of certain military calibers due to the fact, there is darn near a war going in most parts of the world...except maybe France. There is such a shortage of 5.56 and .308, our military is training with foreign ammo. We could feel in the near future sticker shock on some calibers (.308 noteably), simply from the fact that some of the surplus calibers will have been used up and we will have to purchase newly manufactured surplus ammunition. I'm sure it wont be cheap.
