Default What To Do When The Police Come

    http://loadoutroom.com/2698/what-to-...e-police-come/

I got this link from a site I frequent and while many of you already know what to do, it never hurts to read it over again.

If you're interested at all in what's going on with Special Forces today check out the main site sofrep.com... they have some awesome articles written by BTDT guys.

Always good to review this kind of information and keep it fresh in your mind. That said this article was so poorly written it takes away from the subject matter. Proof read before posting, or better yet read the article out loud and you will catch mistakes.

Agreed but I didn't write the article. I fired off an email to the guy about some of the mistakes but who knows when he'll get around to looking at it.

Regardless of errors, good points there- I already have a "oh shit I had to defend myself" plan, which includes a rehearsed basis for what I'll say during a 911 call, to police when they arrive, and which lawyer to contact.

Care to give a brief summary? I'm curious what you've got prepared as right now I've got nothing other than to keep my mouth shut haha.

    It's all situation dependent but...
911: Name, address of incident, "[I was attacked]/[someone broke into my home]/[brief description of cause for use of force], I feared for my life, shots were fired- [state that I own a gun and it will be placed in _____ location by the time police arrive], we need police and an ambulance at this location, I need to go check on my [family]/[neighbors]/[etc.], I'm hanging up now."
Police: "I will fully cooperate once I have consulted with my attorney, until then I invoke my right to remain silent and do not consent to any searches of my person, property, or residence (if applicable). I also request medical attention." Nothing follows.

I say don't hang up because they'll ask you not to. You should remain on the line until the police arrive. That way the police always know where YOU are and they know YOU are the one that called. Prevents any "where is the guy with the gun" questions.
