Stopped in today and was impressed with the space and location. I think this shop has potential.

    The BAD:

I didn't buy anything because the prices were steep compared to other local shops. On this trip I was looking for one of the new take down 10/22s and 5.45 x 39 ammo. The 10/22 was $75 more at USA than another local shop. The ammo (on order) was $90 more for a tin of 1080rnds than the same tin I ended up buying at another shop.

    The Good:

There were a lot of unique pieces that might interest someone looking for a particular collector piece.

Good selection. A lot more black rifles and pistols on order.

    $10 transfers

Todd, the guy I talked to, was very helpful, knowledgeable, and eager to sell me something but not pushy.

Conclusion: If these guys can compete on price this could be another great shop. I'm going to give them some time before I make a final judgement.

Went back to Bear Arms. Confirmed that a unconverted Saiga .223 is $399

If nothing else, $10 transfers is the cheapest I've heard of.

Stopped in other day. It's clean and bright which is nice, and a couple more interesting things like those bipod hunting rifle pistol things. I'd say light on the handgun selection at least in full size modern stuff, plenty of .22 and pocket pistols.

Prices... think I saw some Blazer etc for decent price, everything else wow.

Biggest thing I hated was hearing I think it was Todd blowing so much smoke up a poor noob's ass. Everything from ridiculous statements about armor piercing ammo and quoting ridiculous prices as the standard so his price doesnt seem so ludicris by comparison. Acting like a Saiga 16inch .308 is an accurate with irons 400+ yard gun. (the same ones selling at double msrp.)

Basically gave me a American Guns/Son of Guns type vibe. I think they may stick around if the lease isn't too bad from buffalo'ing city gun noobs.

I stopped in a few weeks back, my wife and my self got a good laugh at there prices. All hand guns were 100$-200$ dollars more than Jensens. Like said before there EBR section was a joke price wise nice selection. There was a guy when we were in there buying one of thoes 600$ saigas and raveing about how good of a deal he was getting it was hard to keep my mouth shut. The prices on ammo I was looking at even with a 10% discount were WAY over priced. With all that being said I always try to buy local even for more money to support our local shops. I will go back in some time soon and see if they have come down to reasonable prices.

. . . so there are always going to be growing pains when starting a business and since they just opened their doors on June 1st, I think they're doing well. They have already figured out that some of their pricing needed to change and they've done it. Their Glocks are all priced at Jensen prices, but you don't get yelled at when you ask a question.

If you have a problem with their prices, just ask them if they'll sell it for less. If not, then go somewhere else! Caveat emptor and caveat venditor!

I find it amusing that people in NOCO consider Jensen's prices some kind of standard lol

Where would you recommend as the (relatively) local standard?

Do your home work. Know what you could get the one you are looking to buy online, with s&H and FFl transfer fee. Visit a few stores in NOCO, then check out Bear Arms.OR take the drive down to MGT.

I never use JA as the go to price for any gun, or any store.

Thinking a gun is over priced w/out actually know what they do sell for, hinders your judgement of a store.
Right now glocks are soft resale wise. You can buy one off the boards for $4-500 range, used to LNIB. PD's are doing trade in's thus shoveling the glocks to ffl's who are dumping, used, for low ball prices.
Hell take a stroll through any wally world that is stocking guns. You can buy base line AR's for $5-600, only down side is 50% of the counter help has no clue.
UPSIDE, you're not dealing with someone who also has no clue at an (FFl)but was hired because they are prior .mil or le. You know who you are

There are a few stores that sell guns way in the back with minimal advertising. Orchads Ace hardware comes to mind. I have looked in JA's for something specific. Then went to OA. walked out with a used trade in for an easy $50-100 saved.
Take the time and visit all the gun stores in NOCO, you be surprised how many there are
