    Default anybody got a 7005r?

so i bought a 5r a while back and have been trying run some down the tube as much as i can but haven't really had the chance. i went back to TN two weeks ago and sighted in with the old man. shot hornady 168 gr. a-max. shot beautifully....today went to cherry creek (don't judge me) ,and shot 168 gr. nosler match and my shot groups opened up considerably? i had 1 box left of the a-max so i shot it thinking maybe it was me but they tightened back up. i was surprised to see such a difference at 100yds. is there any other ammo i should try?

Sorry for the dumb-ass questions... I'm still new to this too.
    you're shooting a .308, right?
What is the twist on your barrel?
What kind of groups were you getting and how many shots are you making in a group?

Pics would help out... don't worry about getting some sh*t about it... we only get better

I have the same rifling on my 22" barreled GAP.
Try some of'em 168gr Blackhills.. I had some 168gr hornady handloads my buddy makes for me and at 100 yards I got the same results as the Blackhills
On the right hand corner BH (Blackhills) 10 shot groupings... this was pretty fast shooting... If I took my time and know how to shot straight I'm pretty sure the groups would've been tighter. The shots in the center was with some 175gr custom handloads my buddy makes for me.

    yep it's a .308 sorry i didn't specify, it's a 1:11.25 twist.
i was getting sub moa @ 100 yds with the a-max in 5 shot groups, i was all over the place with the nosler. i was shooting at a 6" birchwood casey shoot-n-c target could barely keep it in the target with the nosler.

all the nice stuff you can get online... I haven't came across any of this stuff here locally yet...
My buddy does handloads and will break down all the components and brands with a ballistics chart to go with the rounds as well. I can give you his number if your really interested in trying some out... and he is located in Parker which is nice too.. PM me for more info.

I had a 5-R and it would shoot whatever I fed it under MOA. Handloads that is.

I'd say it's time to start rolling your own.
