It depends on what you are trying to edit. You should have an "Edit" button in each of your posts to allow you to edit those. Beyond that, I don't recall which options you have versus those that my account has (I've got extra mod stuff).

I do know that you won't be able to edit your thread title. If that's something you want to do, just send a PM to the forum mods and we can change it to what you want it to say (PLEASE provide us the link to the thread you want us to change so we don't have to hunt for it).

In the Trading Post (i.e. "Firearms For Sale") forums, when you've sold, traded, withdrawn or otherwise are no longer offering the item(s) I ask that members edit the first line of the original post (OP) with the status (SOLD; TRADED; WITHDRAWN; PLEASE CLOSE;....) and ALSO add a new post to the end of the thread to bump the thread so the mod's can see there has been an update. We can then go in and update the title of the thread and we'll close it for you. We typically refrain from deleting threads (even though many members prefer to do just that) so that others can still read the thread and review it later if they have a similar item they are looking to sell.

If you are dead set on deleting your thread you can do so by editing the OP - again this is the FIRST post of the thread - and selecting the delete button. By deleting the first thread post you will delete the thread. As I said though, I'm not fond of that option.

    Hope this helped.

Any chance of removing that "Edited by..." notice, or does that happen at some level, or always on for everyone? TIA, I did try some keyword searches but came up empty.

I think it's always on if a standard member edits their own stuff, but if edited by a member of the staff it can be left off so long as no "reason" is given for the edit.

I think we might be able to shut it off if an edit is made quick enough. So that if someone catches a typo it doesn't include it, but if they later edit their content (say more than 10 minutes after posting) it does display that. I might be confusing that with another forum software I manage, so I'll have to look.
