    Thanks for the help.

As you can see in the photo below, my handguard actually mounts to the top of my receiver. My optic will be mounted on top of that. Anything that is about 1.5" from the top of a standard receiver will be too high to cowitness on my rifle. I think I might have to pick up an Aimpoint of some sort and find a mount that will make it cowitness.

My Eotech sitting on the rail with no mount gives me a perfect co-witness.

Look into the Vortex Sparc. Vortex makes some VERY solid optics and these so far are performing every bit as well as my EOTech & Aimpoint optics and the only question mark will be long-term durability. With the existing track record of Vortex optics I'm not too worried about it at all. Anyway, they run $199 retail (can be found for $180 shipped online) and remind me a LOT of an Aimpoint Micro but with a smaller 2MOA dot (Aimpoint now has a 2MOA option but it will cost you an arm along in addition to the base price on a Micro of your leg) and they key to this discussion is that it comes with a riser, a low pro mount and several spacers so that you can adjust it to just about any level in between. Here's a photo of one of my AR's as well as one of my AK's and both are wearing mounts that come with the optic itself (along with a little 2x magnifier that you can screw on) and not used are a couple spacers of various thicknesses.

I'm not fat, I'm tactically padded.

An Aimpoint ML2 in a QRP mount w/ the spacer is 1.5 inches off the top rail on an AR. It provides absolute co-witness on most AR's. Try the same thing without the spacer.

I was offering my bases for my SPARC I am not going to use but why I did not think of that, he is shopping for a red dot to go with it. Might as well get a VORTEX SPARC and he has some different sized mounts to play with. JBOB still has them with coupon for $179.99 with free shipping. Check out the review of it on AR15 the guy put it through hell.

Yep. Not mounting it to the top of the receiver. See my post directly above your post.

Yup-I saw that. I think you added the pic after I posted. Whole different set up.

    Thanks.

I saw they offer a mount for the Aimpoint H1/T1 but it is a lower 1/3 cowitness. I really want a true cowitness if I can get it.
