Default How does CO-AR feel about Gary Johnson?

    http://www.ontheissues.org/Gary_Johnson.htm

He's this election's third party candidate, and at first glance he seems very good. Against gun control, tough on immigration, pro-rights, legalize marijuana, less taxes etc.

There's a campaign growing to try and get him in the debates this year. The Ds and Rs created a set of rules to keep third parties out of the debates, the one that needs to be overcome is 15% of people polled need to say they plan to vote for him. So in the very least, if you are polled, saying you will vote for Gary Johnson will get the tough subjects out there at the debates.
    Keep Calm and Carry.

I like him as a candidate- I'm very Libertarian leaning...

but if he's in the debates, it could be like Ross Perot all over again

He'll certainly grab conservatives that aren't happy with Mittens, with Obummer's popularity down, he may grab some from the left- but I don't think it would be enough to win, and it would be lopsided enough to upset the election.

If there's a movement to get him in the debates, watch who gets behind it.

On paper I like him ... but every time I hear him speak he looks and sounds like a flake.

Open the border; flood of Mexicans would become taxpayers. (Jan 2001)
Hell no... just because of this I do not like him. Everything else was on the level, making me happy, making me like him, but then this! I don't hate Mexicans, but if you did this you would see the death of millions of jobs, the death of the English language in America, and a multitude of other problems. Oh let's not forget, 70% of suspected terrorists that are in the US right now (as per the DHS) came in via the porous US/Mex border.
And then after reading further he's a f***ing moron when it comes to military policy- opposing the Afghan war is one thing, his reasons make him look like a complete idiot. "Iran is not currently a military threat," right, they're just trying to become one though...

+1. From what I could tell in the early GOP debates, he has about as many leadership qualities as a flea. I'll probably be voting Ron Paul in one form or another.

The one down side to not getting a lot of press yet is that we don't get to see if he's just another poser running for office. I like some of his stances but have yet to see him really in action rather than just reading his sound bites.

I like his stance on some issues, on others I think he is a complete fruit cake.

Comparing to others though... I'd be saying "I like his stance on some issues, on others he is a complete fascist/gun grabber/socialist/etc"

Considering the derelict we have now, yeah Johnson is ok. Not my first pick though.
