yes a medal...plus a huge thank you from all the parents in the area whose child this could have been.
I have nieces and i'm really close to them. I'm not saying what the father did was wrong but getting a medal for killing a molester/rapist is beyond me.

why not. he stopped someone who had a very high percentage of hurting more and more children in the future unless stopped. He saved us tax dollars that would have been wasted housing and feeding this person.

People get medals all the time for getting shot, saving lives, killing "enemies"...why shouldn't this guy get a medal for making his community safe from...IMO...the worst kind of criminal out there.

and I won't discredit you from your nieces or anything, but when they are YOUR kids, there is something extra there that only a parent would really understand.

not trying to bag on you man but I agree wholeheartedly with sniper.
when you have fucktards preying on children, especially very young children, it's incomprehensible.
a life was lost, so what (he made his decision on his own accord), but another life was also spared. Yes the little gal may have seen a man killed in front of her eyes. (we don't know that) But my money is on the idea that she still loves her father and still knows that he will be there no matter what.

I suggest you go talk to some survivors of child molestation and rape. The damage these animals do to a person's entire life is enormous. Once upon a time rape was called "the fate worse than death" for a reason.

Frankly burning at the stake is too good for them.

Hopefully the father will not be charged.

Yep really a medal. In my opinion the Presidential Medal of Freedom would be just fine.

    Here are the basics.

Awarded for an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.

This father removed a creature that preys on children from our society. We dont know how many victims there were before this incident or how many there would have been after. So yes a medal for service to his community as well as his country.

As I mentioned before I have 3 daughters and the only thing that a creature like that would have got from me is a real quick trip to check his religious convictions. He did what was right that is all.

Defense of others in most states permits the use of any level of force that the person being defended is entitled to use. In the case of rape, typically any force including deadly force is permitted to the victim. If the report is correct and the father walked in on the act, he will likely be entitled to a very very strong affirmative defense.

Beyond that, show me a jury who will hand down a guilty verdict on these facts and I will give you a cookie.

Someone once told me there are only two defenses at criminal trial, wasn't me or SOB had it coming.
I am increasingly persuaded that the earth belongs exclusively to the living and that one generation has no more right to bind another to it's laws and judgments than one independent nation has the right to command another.”
    ― Thomas Jefferson
