    DOH!
    I just fixed a similar issue with a home build a couple of weeks ago.
    The owner had inadvertently installed the gas tube upside down.
    They don't cycle so goodly iffins one does that!
    The most important thing to be learned from those who demand "Equality For All" is that all are not equal...

    Not sure I can picture the mechanics of that without bending the tube.

    Well it was a 20" so the misalignment was a bit subtle
    He didn't bend the tube but it looked funky.

    I had a similar problem with one of mine on a rifle length upper. I had it misaligned just a tiny bit and it was enough to prevent the gun from cycling on 55 grain .223 but it would cycle on 62 grain m855. It is hard to tell if they are off just a little because there is not a sight post sticking up to reference off of and the allen screws to tighten it on do not index like pinned gas blocks.
