    I think my situation is a touch different, the gun was built for a friend around 10 years ago by a smith at Ray Stafford Supply/Mile High Shooting park. My friend fell on hard times and sold it to me and I have had it ever since. I think no matter what happens I will get out of it what I bought it for, however I just want to know if its worth $400 or if I am dreaming $1000.

    Probably dreaming, unless you put it on Arms List, then ask $3000..........Then let the rubes haggle you down to $ 2300..............

    What are the brands on the frame, slide, barrel etc that will help or you could swing by sometime and we can sort it out. I am in lakewood myself.

    Alright, Essex Arms frame with a Mark IV colt slide is the only info I can give. All the pics below are small versions of the pictures that can be found HERE.

    Sadly I took all the picture before it occurred to me that I should clean it first, so yes its fairly dirty.

    Essex are cast builder frames.
