    It's pretty easy. Assume it's a brand name 1911 like Springfield or kimber. Look for a model that has all the features yours does and see what they sell for used. You can probably add a little bit more if it's hand fit and everything.

    Not with a cast frame... There is a reason the "name brands" are not sold for $400...hell, he might as well compare it to a "Gunsmoke" 1911 with similar features and price it at $4K. Never assume...ask.

    I settled on $600 (with all mags etc). Might never get it and may seem unreasonable to some, but what it's worth to me.

    as i said, with similar features. a cast frame 1911 isn't worth a whole lot. therefore, its not worth a whole lot.
