    Default Drilling well question

I had a thread on this before but couldn't find it. I've found that the place I may want to buy needs a well ad septic installed. The well would likely be around 400 ft and in jeffco. Anyone have a ball park figure or this? $10/ft, $15? More? And how much does it typically run to install septic? I'd rather see if anyone here knows rough figures rather than waiting for the county to respond.

the well itself will probably be about $15k, add another $5k for getting the pump and piping installed.

15-20K would be a base. You need to remember IF they do not hit water, your still pay. Figure your budget then add $10K as a cushion.

What size is the lot? I did an addition to my house and the County made me "upgrade" my perfectly functioning septic system, even though the same # of people were living there. Due to my small lot size it cost me $25k.

ETA: they made me install a "treatment system", not a run of the mill septic tank. The installer said I can water my garden with the water that out of it. So silly. Nobody even lives within sight of me.

Start adding zero's to actual cost if that happens. Couple we know tried sinking a well on their property up in the foothills. 2 dry holes and $50K later they walked. Seems blasting through rock ran their tab up real quick.

Its true, but several people in the community had theirs drilled and had no problems. However, it is always a potential risk.
