They say that it's impossible to win when the cartels have (and this is somewhat accurate) an unlimited supply of funding as long as there is a demand. We seize a couple million bucks and they barely bat an eye, they expect to lose some to seizure.
But what about our side? How much can we throw at it versus their nearly unlimited funding? $54.14 Billion in 2011. Seems a wee bit lopsided and I think that money could be better well spent elsewhere, like a treatment program that was quoted to end up costing somewhere in the area of about $14 Billion a year.

Treatment programs my ass. The only treatment programs those cartels need is some snoop-and-poop missions by US Spec Ops teams that sneak in around their bases and leave nothing but bodies and burning shit. A few operations like that might slow 'em down a little, maybe. The only thing that would really hurt them is the collapse of the Dollar.

It's not for treatment there- I was talking about the only real viable option if we did away with the drug war, treatment for addicts here instead of jail time. If we try to go after the root of the problem- the vast number of American users that the cartels rely on for profit- that might be a bit more effective than no-knock raids, paramilitary style operations, and people being incarcerated for non-violent crimes. Obviously the current way isn't working, considering most high schoolers these days say that it's easier to get a bag of coke than it is to get a 12-pack. Hell, when I was in high school, just 10 short years ago, I could tell you 6 people who you could get pot from and only two people with older siblings willing to buy booze for us.

from what i got out of it when The older guy was talking, he was saying is that he was giving info to The authorities, and how on The last time he was only paid 300 pesos (26 USD). Yup, I don't understand it either. We accept violence and reject and hide the beauty of the human body...

Oh and don't ban me, I laid out a disclaimer.

These guys watched Apocalypto one too many times. And the guy on the left wheezing long after I thought he was dead...

I'll admit, I thought I was gonna puke for a second there.

QFT!!!! this war is a massive failure at every possible level. Frankly it's still going on not through some govt. sense of moral obligation but to keep the massive bloated bureaucracy so many .gov folks leach from flush with tax payer money.
