as for elk, I definitely get the "feel bad syndrome". I feel bad for taking the life of such an animal but am grateful for the meat/sacrifice.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE to hunt. but when it comes to field dressing I am always remorseful/thankful to the animal for giving itself to further my life. Not sure if it is the Native American in me, the human in me, or just a natural brain function, but I am definitely thankful.
