I found the Blackwater book pretty interesting, although be aware it's a pretty strong indictment of the company and founder.

I usually have 3 to 4 books going at a time. As one slows down, I'll pick up another. I'll discard books early if they don't grab me, especially if the writing is poor.

    Currently reading:

The Coldest Winter by David Halberstam (America's Korean War)

Until the Sea Shall Free Them by Robert Frump (in depth look at the working of the modern merchant marine through a tragedy)

To End All Wars: A Story of Loyalty and Rebellion, 1914-1918 by Adam Hochschild (the most thoughtful look at war I've read in a long time)

If I was going to recommend a book to you all, it would be the one below. The writing style is fresh and powerful, if a bit unpolished. Also my son is featured in it, as it was written by one of his platoon mates during their first tour. Also there is a link to a video except.

"Don't believe everything you read on the internet. That's how World War One started"-- Gen. Curtis E. LeMay

It is an awesome book. I borrowed it from a friend and thought it was great.

They don't make people like that anymore.

Be careful those e-readers are addicting. I bought one for my wife 2 years ago and she has read 327 books at least once a piece...

Reading the New American Standard Bible and in Jerimiah. I try to read it through once a year. Also, just finished The Race by Clive Cussler (its the Issac Bell series).

This is an awesome story about a true, hardcore, American hero. Louis Zamperini's life is nothing short of amazing grace. I've never heard of any "operator" or warrior whose story involves more honest, documented, will to survive and providence in overcoming the horrors of war. The man is still alive today.

    Counterinsurgency by David Kilcullen

Just re-read The Mission, the Men, and Me by Peter Blaber. Have to read that one at least once a year.

Oh yeah, got the "sample" of Killing Lincoln for Kindle, which was about the first 5 chapters, and it is really good so far. I'll get the full book.
