How the hell do you do that with conditions like they are? Oh yeah, you're an asshole.

Here's some info on that one: Springer Fire

"The fire has been determined to be human caused and may be related to recreational shooting." [the bold was mine]

If this was truly caused by recreational shooting and it was because some jackass shot a propane tank, that NEEDS to be reported. Just saying "related to recreational shooting" is flagrantly misleading, if indeed it was a jackass shooting a propane tank.

Someone on here was saying that his buddy was down there shooting and heard an explosion from a near by group and started seeing heavy smoke shortly after so he packed up and got the heck out of there.

Damn, I'd bug-out too. Looks like he made the right move.

Local news is reporting that there is no shooting in the national forest along the Front Range in Colorado including the Pike National Forest.

They are calling it the "Peak to Peak" shooting ban.

Authorities refuse to confirm anything. My wife was working in Cripple Creek and Guffey the other day and a Sheriff deputy told her "gun fire couldn't penetrate tank" . So what caliber were these suspects shooting?

The rumor is that someone was shooting at a propane tank and started the Springer Fire, we've been under the threat of evacuation since Monday. We've worked to cut and clear a 30 foot zone around our house so if the fire reaches here we try to fight it. Teller CO. S/O is looking for an arsonist who set 9 fires, 7 in two hours in the same area. If I catch someone setting a fire here they're dead meat.

I'll get in contact with my... uh... um... source, with the Clear Creek County SO and see, I really want to go buy some bullets, and go take my homemade target stand up to Squaw this weekend and punch some paper. Indoor ranges are nice and all, but with range fees and crowds I'd rather go up in the wilds and "bust some caps, yo!"

National Forests have been under a fire/shooting ban since April, in Boulder County. No sure if that was a county ban or all FS land controlled by the Boulder district. I can't help but think that the brain trust that visits Lefthand Canyon influenced the decision.

    I can't wait for July 4th.
