new resident ccw and gun buying question

Hey guys,

I moved here from Ohio recently and I'd like to get my CCW and be able to purchase guns in this state so I've got a question.

My car is titled in my dad's name and insurance is cheaper in Ohio so I haven't changed it yet(cleared with the agent for at least two more months) but they both said if I get my Colorado DL the big wigs at the insurance company may kick me off my Ohio insurance plan and get it here in Colorado(not a big deal but if he's willing to let me save some money I'm not going to say no.)

Does anyone have experience with this and can you offer any advice on another way I can go about buying a gun in this state without a Colorado DL and is having the DL the only way to get my CCW since Ohio's isn't recognized here?
