Mountain House Meal Expired?

I had a MH meal last month that was a year past. I have MRE entries that are still being consumed and they are 2001 dates.

As said stored right many things will last much longer than there dates.

I bought a ton of Mountain House Meals today for dirt cheap practically free the only catch is they have a "best if used by" date of 2009 and 2010 but do they really go bad since they are freeze dried? Has anyone ate any that are years past the "best if used by".date? Some feed back on this topic would be greatly appreciated

I personally have eaten a can of tuna that was over ten years past experiation. Rather flaverless with the consistancy of a pate. Once youve eaten three day old water buffalo and considered it a treat your food standards change a bit

Try them out and let us know how they are. I have a ton of MH but none is up for pull yet. If they were stored properly i'm sure they are fine. If they are bad I'm sure you will know once you crack the seal.
