War and rioting are specifically excluded losses in insurance policies. After 9/11, the ISO forms were rewritten to include something about terrorism. I think it might be just on commercial properties, and I think it is now an elective coverage, but I've been out of claims too long to be sure.

Also, there are reports of several people calling in to GET insurance on their uninsured homes as the fires grew closer. Of course they were denied; dumbasses.

My wife was able to drive past our house today, and everything is still standing. She hasn't been inside yet because she's particularly sensitive to smoke and dust.

Thanks for all that sent their good thoughts.

All of Colorado is worshipping you guys right now Hoser. Once again, please pass on to your crews that we most sincerely thank you guys for the jobs that you do. I'm sure you guys are wiped out due to your current Ops tempo, but your efforts have helped to keep this from being so much worse.

According to KKTV News, Mayor Bach has officially stated that 346 (or 347) structures (mostly homes) have been lost so far in this fire.

    Default Edit: 2 Dead

Police have just stated that the body of 1 adult was found in the burned home in the Mountain Shadows neighborhood.

Reports state that there were 2 adults in the home and the second person is now missing.

ETA: The body of the missing adult has been found in the burned remains of the home.

I've got to wonder WHY they didn't evacuate.

Getting ready to go out again today.

The guys on the ground are looking at how things went last night to make sure they have a good plan for us.

Yesterday we worked the west side of the fire along Hwy 24 above Crystola/Cascade and also the north east side.

Below is some pics from Tuesday mid day.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.
