A million thanks to you and your crews Hoser!
Holy crap that video is mesmerizing... I don't think I blinked once during the entire 16 minutes. I think the dramatic music helped.

+1 to all the firefighters, aircrew, etc!

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

my wife and dog have moved back into our house. the GeoMAC website showed the closest it got was about a half mile (I think, I'm not good with maps).....

Thanks all who sent their good thoughts and prayers.

A special thanks out to all those involved in getting this thing contained/controlled/all of that... (that means you, Hoser)

My wife and I are in Wheat Ridge staying with relatives. Our area in NW COS is still in the evacuation area. I am listening to scanners on the PC and crews are all around our neighborhood working on "smokers". From the Google crisis maps it looks like fire got into neighbors back yards. Our house looks untouched. We just have to wait this out.

Feel so bad for those that lost their houses and lives.

They don't have us mapped yet. Our house is at the base of Blodgett peak.
All looks ok on the Google crisis maps.

I heard in the morning briefing that there were "a few" burglaries in the evacuated areas. Just reprehensible.

Good luck man. I feel terrible for those that are left to rebuild.

One of these pictures I took of Peregrine a few days ago might help. These are huge pictures, so use your browser to zoom in on the part where your house is located:

    South Peregrine
    North Peregrine

I've been keeping an eye on Peregrine for some friends -- these pictures were taken at the worst it got up there and I never saw any structure fires whatsoever. So though there might be some burned lawns, shrubs and trees, I think you're ok, though I can't speak to smoke damage.

The pictures were taken from Chapel Hills Mall, so the easier you can see the mall from your house the easier it should be to spot in the picture.

Appreciate the photos. My house is a bit to the left of the edge shown on the North picture.

I always said that Colo. Springs was as close to paradise that I ever found. This week it looks like it is close to the infernal reaches.
