    Default Fireworks question: Why??

So, lighting/using fireworks is now illegal in Colorado due to the fire danger so why on Earth is it legal to sell them at these stands? That makes no sense.

I saw one on the east side of Sheridan about 50th? yesterday. Didn't look to see if they were actually selling any, but they sure had the signs out advertising fireworks.

There are stands up here in loveland selling them. I feel bad for the person who invested the money because no one is buying them and there going to loose out big time this year.

People will still light them off even though they are illegal most places.

This is but a step for the tree huggers to get them outlawed forever.

I think it's about the $$$. Keep the vendors happy and let them sell them and they make whatever money they happen to given the ban. Then the county they are used in makes their revenue off all the people who break the law and are arrested for using them. Heaven forbid should they ban the sale of fireworks for safety! That would make to much sense.

Its illegal to light them not sell them. Why punish the small businesses who invested the money. If people are stupid they will pay the consequence.

That is like saying banning guns will prevent all gun related deaths.

Not so sure about that. We had the same kind of ban a few years ago and most everyone understood and complied. At least around here.
