I have also heard soldiers say that an M4 cannot engage somebody past 300m, and that there is no such thing as trigger reset, and that a .50 BMG round passing near your body will kill you, and that it always takes several COM hits with a 5.56 to stop somebody but even a peripheral hit with 7.62 NATO will stop them dead in their tracks...
All I have to say is WOW. Kids these days will believe anything. And for the 50 BMG theory, that is why Keano Reaves should be shot for filming the matrix. LOL

I shoulda saved all the money I've spent over the years on assault rifles and just bought a couple extra 22LR's

Are you friggin kidding me? The guy that stood in line for an hour and a half to get $300 for three guns, must be from California. He's definately not a true Texan. A real Texan would stand in line for that much time, to buy three guns for $300!! Just Sayin......

When I lived in Shreveport they had a gun buy back program in the late 90's. One of the dealers made a killing clearing out his stock of Jennings, Lorcerns and SKS rifles ($100 handgun, $250 'assault rifle')... Not a bad haul for $40 pistols and $125 rifles at the time...

Because they think they have to, or are made to think that they are owning the gun illegally.

Chicago runs these ambiguously, so people who aren't aware think they are mandatory. I'm sure there are also people turning in guns they don't own (owned by family members) or inherited.

When I move back east, I would like to put up a web site or do some local advertising that if anyone would like to rid themselves of any guns they no longer wish to have in their home, they could turn them over to me. I would reserve the right to compensate anyone who turns in their unwanted guns and would evaluate each orphaned firearm personally.

I should probably just call it a Pawn Shop huh?

They also allegedly took in an M60 'off the streets' with the same $100 gift card program. An M60. For a $100 gift card. Sure ya did!
