Mayor Hancock said what??

In response to the loss of the Denver officer last night Mayor HanCOCK made a statement, here is an excerpt:

He asked residents to let police know if they see someone with a gun, and to turn in weapons they find in their homes.
"We need to get these weapons off the street and out of the hands of these young people," Hancock said.

i don't know anything about the guy and am not defending him, but i watched the press conference and although the rhetoric was suspicious, what he was trying to say is that they need to get guns out of the hands of teens and others who have them illegally because kids don't understand the damage they can cause. basically he was talking about high school and slightly older than high school kids that are gang banging. again, i don't even know the guy or care about him, but during the press conference it really didn't sound that bad, just poor choice of words.

Politicians NEVER miss an opportunity to push an agenda. With temps as high as they are now and summer just starting, i doubt this shooting will be the last.

im as paranoid about the government as the next guy and im not saying something won't come out of it, im just saying that when he was talking about it, on tv, it sounded fairly clear what he meant and didn't make me want to go grab my tin foil hat.

I was going to say I have a couple guns missing some parts, instead of selling them to gander I would hold out for an event like this
