Received the reference sheet. Thanks so much! Guys like you make this forum an awesome place to be!
Wulf, I noticed you mentioned PotPerm as an effective way to treat water in your table.
Do you have a specific measurement using granules? Everything I have seen is to add granules until the water has a slight pink tinge.
Reason why I ask is I carry it in my bag for tertiary firestarting/first aid/and tertiary water treatment. It is a good multitasker I think.
If this is knowledge that is a "you have to come to my class to know", then I will understand. :-)
Potperm is something that requires knowing the ph of your water to get the level and treatment time measured out. Then you have to have a measured amount of potperm at a known purity. This is how you do it by the book. Wasting a small sample of the water in the test, and hauling around dead weight in the PH test kit and scale.
Doing it in the field you just throw it in there and shake it around until it turns pink and that should be good enough.
Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice.

Thanks! Bookmarked.
I vote this be a sticky of some sort... I would hate for this thread to get lost.
