My frustration has been building over the past few weeks, and it seems people just don't "get it" so I decided to send the CSP District 6 Commander the following:
I think it was worded well and respectfully... I hope they fix this issue.Major Powell,
I am a concerned citizen who commutes from Lakewood to Evergreen every day for work. I utilize the Mt. Vernon Canyon section of I-70 (From 6th Ave to Evergreen Parkway) every morning. I see a growing issue that I thought I would respectfully bring to your attention. As I understand, it is state law that vehicles must keep right on a multi-lane highway except to pass. I truly believe it is common knowledge that this is the law but it is rarely, if ever, enforced. I would greatly appreciate, to assist with the flow of traffic, reduce incidents of road rage, and increase the general well being of drivers if you and your troopers would make a more concentrated effort to aid in either enforcing this law (along with the minimum speed for the left lane going up the hill near Genesee) or informing the public that this is the law. In addition to this concern, I don't believe every single trucker is aware that this section of the interstate also has lane restrictions for the bigger, heavier vehicles as I see them using the left lane and middle lane when not passing. This has become a central focus of concern and frustration for me. I appreciate all the hard work and professionalism the CSP is known for, and your attention to this matter would also be greatly appreciated. If you have any concerns, questions, or comments, please feel free to contact me.
Very Respectfully,
Ryan C. Davidson
