Default Bye bye high deductible plans

"catastrophic" insurance illegal under the "affordable health care act"

After the individual mandate goes into effect on January 1, 2014, the ACA limits the deductibles of most policies sold to no more than $5,950 per individual or $11,900 per family (adjusted annually for inflation). Health plans must also provide a costly essential benefit package that covers preventive services with no cost sharing.

Yep, I miss my old high deductable Blue Cross plan. Reasonably priced. Since Obamacare passed, my health insurance premiums have gone up around 25% so far.

-shop around a bit. I've had three major surgeries in the past 36 months and my Blue Cross policy hasn't gone up a nickel.

Yup, my group plan premiums (which were steady for years before the bill) have gone up 30% since this thing passed. FSA accounts will be limited to $2,500 next year so forget about using them for things like laser eye surgery (like my wife was going to do).

So higher premiums, lower amount of pre tax health care savings (ie. tax HIKE)...Bama care hasn't even been fully implemented and it is costing me a shit ton more money every year. So much for not affecting the middle class...
