Wow, just wow- we had the same training at my work, but I work in a cubicle at a telecommunications company with a "no guns on company property" rule

I was a bit disturbed by some of the suggestions-
To hide in a room and lock the door (all the rooms I have access to on my floor have no locks- not to mention locking the door would prevent other innocents from getting a hiding place, every man for himself I guess)

To exit the floor in a place that's not visible to the shooter (if the shooter places themselves in the right place, there is no such exit unless one were to throw something through a window and jump)

If all else fails, and only if there is no alternative are you to confront the active shooter, throwing heavy items like a stapler (yes, it ACTUALLY said stapler)

so anyone want to join me for some tactical stapler throwing drills?

As far as I am concerned TSA is the poster child for what is wrong with our government. Trying to board a plane headed back to Japan while on emergency leave I was stopped by a TSA agent who had no clue about her job or the rules. She proceeded to tell me that my NY drivers license was no good because it was expired (never expires with valid AD ID) and my Colorado CCW was not a Govt issued ID. My wife pleaded with me not to knock her out and get myself detained.

Sorry for the rant, I wish politicians would just read the damn documents I swore to defend.

Well that certainly makes federal law enforcement safer. God knows confronting bad guys can be dangerous.

I'm more of a precision guy when it comes to facing active shooters from my cubicle thats why I got this.

The swingline long reach, I'm hoping for a rail on the next gen so I can put a laser on it.

    Yeah...but can you make a head-staple at 60 yds?

Frankly, I don't think the standard office staple in 13/8 caliber has enough stopping power. You really wan't nail the bad guy's ass to the wall you'll want something that packs a little more punch like an industrial 23/24 caliber.

Wow, that is our hard earned tax dollars at work??? Run away, hide and throw things. I hope the agents are wearing soft soled thorn shrugging shoes just in case they need to throw them at the bad guy. We wouldn't want it to hurt them, just maybe deter them to take out easier target...one that isn't an accurate thrower!
