Default My house got vandalized because of my religious beliefs

So, we come back home from breakfast, this morning, and we find out that our "VOTE SATAN" sign, hanging on our ront porch, has been vandalized.

    BEFORE

    AFTER

Basically somebody waited for us to leave, got on our front porch with a knife, climbed to reach the sign and cut it off.

We already filed a report for hate crimes with our local police department and I am considering security cameras probably 1 on each side of the house.
Is anybody in the forum in the security business?

What can I expect to spend?

I bet you could get by with a couple of motion activated "game cameras"

I vote on investing on a tower or a ghillie suit...

... wouldn't it be something catching them in the act...

Dunno as I've never used one, but I believe some have night vision capability so that would be cool (especially since those use an IR strobe so the flash won't be visible to the miscreants).

Most are digital so you can swap out SD cards pretty easily. I wouldn't be surprised to find out there are some that use wifi (and may already be more "urban camo" looking).

Like anything I suspect features are driven by budget.

I also suspect most are in green, brown or camo cases so you might want to paint the case to match the house.

A little googling led me to this. So maybe home security cams aren't as expensive as I thought.

Why not just put out security looking signs saying "THIS PROPERTY PROTECTED BY THE DARK LORD"?

Sportsman's WHSE has game cameras. Most have removable memory cards. Get one with the shortest activation/trigger time. Video is good too. AA batteries are better than C size. IR is handy for night pics.

Make sure you don't have any sharp objects like razor blades or fish hooks epoxied up near your new signs. It would be terrible if anyone was injured while stealing your property.
