Default Full time instructor (does this exist?)

Hey all haven't posted much since the forums went down a few months ago but I do lurk a lot. I'm a marine scout sniper and should be getting out in a few months (they are letting us terminate our contracts early in order to downsize quicker) after 8 years of service. It could be as soon as October and as late as April 13'. Anyhow, I'm gonna be moving back to the Castle Rock area at that time and I'd love to stay in my field of expertise and I'm trying to put my feelers out to see if such a job exists, I messaged back and forth with a few members already regarding this but it seems as though the instructor jobs are only a part-time gig and that's not going to be enough to sustain my wife and I while she finishes her masters at DU.

I was wondering if there is a market for full-time long range precision fires instructors in Colorado? I know Ft Carson is down there as well as a few other military bases. Do they send their snipers out for civilian shooting packages? I've been through a few schools in my time so long range isn't my only skillset (I do CQB, tac pistol and carbine, SERE, DMOC, etc) but it's what I think is most marketable. Anyways, if anyone has any info or anyone I can talk to let me know! Thank you all and have a great 4th of July!

I saw that they have some courses coming up this year in the 'Training' sub-forum, but do they have dedicated instructor cadre stationed in Colorado? I'm digging around their web site now...

Give Bob a call. If there is a gig locally, either he knows or one of the guys who work with him will know. Besides, you will want to come out and play at the Bennett Farm.

    Be safe.

Seems like almost every range has an instructor. It is like golf courses. They have their own inhouse instructor, and it is harder for other instructor to teach at the course/range.

This post reminded me of what Chris Kyle (American Sniper) did when he got back.. He started Craft. I googled them, and sure enough, at first glance it appears they even have a careers section.

I was just going to point this out as an idea, but it actually looks like they need somebody for Denver.

edit: not sure if those req's are ok... maybe look into it..

thanks for the link chad, I'll keep checking back at that site for more openings. The one they have for Denver is for EOD currently, but now it's on my radar! Thank you!

I dont know if you want to go this route, but try Personal Security or Executive type security.
I have a buddy who travels all over and provides personal security for
people wether celebrity or just made of money etc.
If your interested I can get you the info. I am sure you live where ever you want
as long as you are close to an airport to leave at a moments notice.

My buddy is former Marine and he has claimed SS, but you know how that goes.

Most likely you will have to aligned with a company with gov or GSA registered company that wins a specific contract. Get your resume out to some of those companies and do your homework. There is a constant need for DDM instructors within DoS community, SERE is now civilian run & needs instructors, etc... Teaching civilians will not pay the bills unless you're working every weekend with full classes and every veteran who can spell M4 geting out nowadays is trying to make it big as an instructor.
