Another vote for Shootist, the only thing is that there's no ventilation of any kind but the range officers are pretty cool there.

Went there once, was very underwhelmed, and the lack of ventilation made want to never return.

I would spend some time somewhere not at the range and go over some basic firearm handling stuff before I hit the range if I were you. Just my opinion. Maybe get her/him familiar with the function of the firearm(s) you are going to be shooting and then take the next step to the range once alittle more comfortable with the operation/handling.

I took a gun virgin to the range, Silver Bullet. Weekday, late 6pm. Nobody else there, we had a good, relaxed time to shoot. I did nothing but assist and make sure all was safe.
