    Default What's your favorite beer?

I've been trying different beers lately, thanks to my new home address which is near (very near) a couple of neat pubs and a very well-stocked liquor store. I've been drinking St. Pauli Girl for years, now trying some new stuff. Just discovered Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, and a new good one- Mikey have you tried this?- Longboard Island Lager by Kona Brewing Co.

Once you get past the pilsners and lagers that litter the American and German beer sections, head on over to the UK for some full bodied Ales. Bass is a good place to start (or better yet, Laughing Lab brewed right here in Colorado Springs). Eventually you'll be ready for Stout and then you'll never look back.

The key is to figure out what style of beer you like, then you can worry about brands.

Personally I prefer a lighter ale as opposed to dark ales.

Hell, get yourself to the nearest brew pub ... you live in one of the best areas of the country during what will be looked back upon as a golden age of small craft breweries. Find a brew pub, order a "sampler" (usually 4-6 4oz glasses) and start tasting.

Then once you've isolated the type of beer you like, then you can start shopping for a new favorite brand (and more importantly avoid wasting cash on some stinkers).

Start local, some of the best beers in the world are brewed right here in Colorado (half of them within a half hour drive of where you're sitting right now).

Now if we could just get James May and Oz Clarke to join you.
