    Default Pellet gun "hunting"...wheres abouts?

So about a week ago I purchased a Ruger Blackhawk .177 air rifle rated for 1000FPS. After firing it at a heavy backstop on my balcony from my kitchen, I, and the fiancee, realized it was WAY too loud. Sounded like a sub sonic .22LR. These things have obviously changed since I had my Benjamin when I was quite a bit younger. Also turns out it's illegal in Aurora to fire any kind of weapon outside of a range... Didn't know that...oops... Haven't done it since. It's a shame, too, because the Starlings are scaring away the song birds.

So, does anyone know of a decent area to go shoot one at? I know Euro Starlings and Sparrows are open year round with my small game license. I'd like to not have to drive an hour and a half the lady at the national forest department told me I'd have to go and it's kind of pointless to go to a range with it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Even in California I could go fifteen minutes from the house and shoot, until Feinstein and Boxer closed off all the BLM land Hate seeing CO go that way now.

I bought one of those a while back, and tested it, I am glad i did and took it back, too loud. Now I have a Benjamin 397, under 800fps so no crack.

I don't know where to go and shoot one, I would think public land for a pellet gun.
