Unfortunately, my lead 185s are swaged not hard cast. I've been told that pushing them out at velocities necessary to make power factor is likely going to cause severe leading.

One alternative that was suggested was to look at the really heavy bullets like a 260 (or was it 250 ) grainer which would only need to attain a velocity in the upper 600's. The explanation was that the heavier slug would allow for the slower velocity necessary to avoid leading and still make the power factor.

To me, it sounds like shooting a watermelon down range.

I'm ready to spring for copper jacketed bullets if absolutely necessary but I'm still hoping for a less expensive (lead) way to go.

Still open to suggestions
